Share Your World – 2015 Week #4

Where did you live at age five?  Is it the same place or town you live now?

As a 5 year old I lived with my parents in my grandparents home on the top floor.

This was in Hilversum the Netherlands. I had two weeks on the ship the Waterman before my 6th birthday.  It is a whole world away from where I am now in New Zealand.

You are invited to a party that will be attended by many fascinating people you never met.  Would you attend this party if you were to go by yourself?

I don’t like it to go on my own because I have gone to many functions on my own. It is not the best thing because people need to discuss events like this with each other. On your own you can’t do that.

Did you grow up in a small or big town? Did you like it?

I grew up in a very small rural village which today is part of a city! I enjoyed it very much. Near nature and not very complicated.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up?

I am an animal lover and always wanted to become a vet. Those days girls did not study for vets they had to marry and be wives and mothers. I still love my animals and did my own studies after many years of looking after my son.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I am grateful that I could house sit for my friend who went over seas for 3 weeks. I also looked after her two dogs and two cats. I am grateful that she payed me for it. Every cent helps. I look forward to catching up with this friend. I also hope that I could get another International student this year.

        1. Hul is rerig my beste honde. Trompie bring my net plesier.

  2. Visiting from Share Your World. How nice of you to pet sit. If I had someone nice enough to sit for a kitty I would adopt a cat. We miss our Z Cat. I had a hard time with the party question because I am shy and going alone could be tough. But I decided that the people I would meet would be worth it!

    1. I enjoyed the pet sitting, it felt like a holiday near home! My own place was just 5 minutes drive away. Meeting those people would also make me go on my own again. I met some special people by going on my own.

Ek dink daars baie ander geleenthede ook as dit by diere kom.

Dit was vir my heerlik gewees
