Blogging from A-Z : G

GUEST HOUSE/GASTEHUIS

Two years ago  I had the opportunity to stay  in a wonderful Guest house.

It was a pleasure to stay over in a home turned into a guest house.

Meals were in the owners dining room.

Somersal is an idyllic Bed and Breakfast Accommodation / Wedding Venue near the famous Waitomo Caves. Perched on the banks of the Waipa River in Pirongia, Waikato. It’s just 30 minutes north from the Waitomo Caves, 20 minutes from Hamilton and only 10 minutes drive from Te Awamutu. Stay in farm style comfort under a sky rich with stars, then wake to an especially prepared breakfast and the song of native birds in the garden.

Before migrating to New Zealand in 2009 a very dear and good friend

invited me to live with her in her guest house in Potgietersrus(Mokopane).

My last two weeks in South Africa were very special.

I had to return to SA  in 2010 and she again, gave me the opportunity to stay with her for a few days.

Kameeldoring Guest house is situated in a very safe and secure area. We have 7 rooms, all ensuite, with a private entrance to every room and a balcony looking out on a peaceful garden. DSTV in all rooms and a Coffee and tea tray in the rooms for your convenience.

The hostess is well-known for her cooking skills and breakfast is served in a lovely homely atmosphere. Dinner and lunch is also available on request as well as lunch boxes for the travelling business person.

AFRIKAANS

  1. I know a woman from another blogging site who actually owned a bed and breakfast in Louiseville, Kentucky. She has retired from it now, but is finally publishing a book about her experiences. It seems like a nice business to be in if you enjoy playing hostess.

  2. Dit lyk so lekker ek wil sommer nou daar gaan kuier!

      • Hulle sang was my gunsteling-klank toe ek daar gekuier het.

        • Hul is baie gebiedgebonde.

Lekker dae.

  5. Sounds like Somersal is well placed for seeing the local attractions. We plan to visit NZ at some point, and will be looking for homestyle accommodation. I’ll put this on my ‘to be investigated further’ list. Thank you.
