I wonder what happened to the top of these toadstools?
I found them on the side of the pavement while walking Trompie.

I saw pictures of the same mushrooms a couple years ago. Searched around and found them on https://rosegrowing.blogspot.com/2008/12/strange-fungi-appeared-at-my-roses.html
But it looks like s/he has no name for them either, though “jellyfish fungi” seems apt. Looks to be in the southern hemisphere, though, as he’s growing roses at Christmastime.
