Through my window: Snow?

Last night was stormy with wind gusts over 100km an hour. Heavy showers on and off. Early morning there was silence. I got out of bed, opened the curtain, and this is what I saw.

From the main house looking at the same bed and hills.

I took Beatrix to school on foot. Flurries of tiny hail were blown into our faces. Then before reaching the school, snowflakes started fluttering around us. Beatrix was wet, luckily I packed an extra warm jersey in her bag. To tell the truth, we could not find her raincoat, which wasn’t the best thing this morning.

Ek was 1981 in Secunda. Ek onthou dit nog so goed omdat my seun toe vier weke oud was en ek met n parkhome vol nat doeke gesit het.

Dankie vir sterkte. Eks ook maar nie op my gemak as ek so in die nag in bed lê en luister hoe die wind aan alles pluk. Was beslis onverwags gewees.

Yes, it doesn’t often snow this low or to ground level. Was a real surprise.

Wow, what a storm! All kinds of inclement weather for the season, and having hail in your face is NO fun at all.
Its a wonder nothing was ruined in your pretty garden…at least not that I could see.

Wasn’t pleasant at all but we experienced it in our faces. First time for Beatrix. Nothing ruined because nothing has been planted yet. The snow doesn’t do much it’s the hail that ruins the delicate flowers and leaves.
