I’ve been busy today. First I walked my dog. Washed my dishes. I took some photos of memorabilia that I had unpacked yesterday. I want to use the photos for my Monday blog challenge. Roundabout 10 am I started editing my Primary School pieces for the second part of my Memoirs. I was just dug into editing when my son sent a message telling me my unit, we are renting out, has a water leak. When I lived there I had a leak which someone fixed for me. Now my son wanted to know how; who and whatever I did then. I couldn’t remember much. I told him I’ll have a look if I could find some information. Problem is I didn’t know where to look because I haven’t unpacked everything yet. Best was that I wasn’t in the mood to edit and the search was a great escape from it. I had my lunch and then I sat down and edited eight pages. I’m busy rewriting, copying, cutting and pasting pieces that go together. After dinner, I watered my garden because we have water restrictions. We may only water every second day and only between 7 – 9 pm. Well then, a busy day indeed.
My dog Trompie loves to go to the vet. He has some health issues and needs to visit regularly. He also knows where the bag with treats is after he has seen the vet. Behind the poster that says: You are a good dog!

To publish a book or even a blog post takes a lot of time. I’m not going to say that using long hours to publish is a waste of time. It seems that publishing is a long journey up to when the book is published. I’ve tried my hand at publishing a few e-books and one hard copy. I first published an ebook on my flash fiction pieces. That wasn’t a big success because I didn’t have a programme to send a pdf to create space. At the end I published it and it didn’t look good. Then I did an Afrikaans ebook through Smashwords which was/is much better. This is a book on what I have written every week on the challenge run by myself. Not bad, but I put hours and more hours in for some weeks to publish it. I am also part of a writing group where we write our memories on our past. I’ve got heaps of writing. Every year we publish (print) a book, taking about six to ten of our stories written during the year.
The year before last I decided to publish the first part of my Memoirs. I published the stories of my first six years. I used the old “create space” and made a hard copy in print on demand and then also an eBook at the same time. I enjoyed publishing this book. When I hold it in my hand I am proud to say that it looks good. My friends also said it was worth publishing the story of my life. I’m now busy with my schooling years. Halfway with my primary years. It’s still a long way from publishing, but I enjoy working on my memoirs.
our prompt for JusJoJan January 13th, 2020, is “subscribe.” Use the word “subscribe” any way you’d like. Have fun!
To subscribe to companies or online places has brought me a lot of fun and happiness but also some misjudged and unpleasant subscriptions.
It has cost me a lot of wasted writing time by thinking and subscribing to programmes which only want to get hold of my address to send bad stuff to me.
I started with a new laptop but…
I bought Scrivener and downloaded it. In the proses of loading, you have to log in to certain places. I wasn’t really thinking while ticking the boxes. To make a long story short, I clicked on the useless ones. They caught me righthanded by subscribing to things that mixed up my own programs. Do you think it’s easy to get rid of them, not at all? My son cleaned everything up at the end but I still have hours of problems locking into my own laptop.
I wish people would put a “no thank you” or a “not accept” notice with their subscriptions so that poor me can get out of the mess when I want to.

I did not do yesterdays challenge. I wasn’t in the mood to do it. Today wasn’t different. I still don’t feel like Just Jotting something down using Gravity.
Well I did some Jotting after looking up the meaning of gravity which is as follows:
gravity. In physics, gravity is the natural force that causes things to fall toward the earth. The noun gravity can also mean seriousness or solemnity. Someone who conducts themselves with an air of gravity is someone who takes what they are doing seriously.
I am a person who has an air of gravity. When I do something I focus on it and do whatever I can to complete the task or job as best as I can. This way of doing, most of the time, stresses me out because I’m only happy with the best. Then the gravity of the earth has a big influence on my way of walking. I easily stumble and then the gravity pulls me over and pushes my face into the ground. I just can’t help it at times. It’s just as if the ground/earth laughs at me when the gravity pulls me down.
Your prompt for JusJoJan January 10th, 2020, is “dogs.” Use the word “dogs” any way you’d like. Enjoy!
Talking about dogs makes my heart beat faster. Dogs are supposed to be a mans best friend. Why does it happen so often that man abuse them? They only want to give everything to their loved ones.
My favourite dog breed is the miniature Schnauzer. I bought one in 1980 and haven’t been without one or two since then. When I came to New Zealand in 2009 I decided not to get myself a dog again. Famous last words. It only took me nearly two years before I bought my dear Trompie. I told my son that I saw an advertisement for eight week old puppies on Trade me. He suggested that we should go and have a look. That was the worst decision I made, to just go and have a look.
I love female dogs more than males. In the group of eight puppies was only one bitch and she was kind of sold already. I kept on looking at those sweet puppies. I couldn’t resist the urge to buy one. I had the money, so, why not buy one anyway. That’s what happened. We didn’t turn home empty-handed. On the ride home, we came up with the name of Trompie.
Trompie is the name of a young boy who is the leader of a group of boys who come up with all kinds of mischievous. A very popular series of books which was also later filmed.

The prompt for JusJoJan January 7th, 2020, is “mix.” Use the word “mix” any way you’d like. Enjoy!
Mix and match that’s the easiest way to dress. When buying clothes I always look for something that could go with something else. Also if I can use it in other combinations too. When you mix certain colours with each other you can get a totally different colour.
I love a garden with mixed flowers and colours. It makes a fresh and summery air.
Something I don’t like much is when a dog or cat breeder mix the types of dogs/cats with each other. It’s a modern way of breeding. Mixing a Poodle with a Labrador; end result Labradoodle! Real mix up. Poor animals. They don’t know if they must be an upstairs poodle or a pleasant caring Labrador.
Life is anyway an example of mixes; be it ideas, ways of handling situations or just deciding where you may walk or live.

Your prompt for JusJoJan January 6th, 2020, is “possibility.” Use the word “possibility” any way you’d like. Have fun!

Here in New Zealand there is a great possibility of feeling an earthquake once in a while. The scientists can predict a quake but there is always a possibility of untimely quakes. If you have a look at the information from https://www.geonet.org.nz/earthquake you will see that there are many possibilities of quakes happening.
Then there is also the possibility of a tsunami, depending on the strength or depth of the quake.
When thinking about nature there could always be a possibility for a disaster. Example: the bush fires in Australia are caused by different circumstances; possible high temperatures, strong winds and dryness of the bush. Then at the moment, the fires have the possibility to form fire spouts which can form their own lightning in the clouds of smoke.
