Camp NaNoWriMo July 2021
I made it easily before the deadline of end of July! I edited 52910 words in less than four weeks. The camp’s target is to finish a specific amount of words in the four weeks of July. My intention was 50000.
I entered Camp NaNoWriMo to perform some editing on all of my work on my school journey and adulthood. I embrace challenges. It causes me to sit down and record my memories.
My writing journey started back in 2012. ‘It’s write easy’, and Audrey stimulated me to research my past.
NaNoWriMo is an online place where one has to write 50000 in November each year. In 2018, I took part in my first National Novel Writing Month-NaNoWriMo. My first 50000 words were about my early six years as an infant. I did the writing in Afrikaans because it flows better. In the end, I printed my first publication about those early six years. 2019 I wrote about all my school experiences; 2020 on growing into an independent woman, my teaching career, as well as my marriage. This year 2021, I’m aiming to record my New Zealand experiences.
Camp NaNoWriMo encouraged me to sit down and analyze all my recorded work. Hopefully, I’ll print the later part of my life before the end of this year. At this stage, I will not translate it into English. Maybe one day I’ll give it a go.
